This page is intended to archive some of the past initiatives undertaken by the CFO, the Springfield Regional Arts Council, local arts organizations, supporters and advocates in an effort to create sustainability and provide long-term direction for these agencies. All of these initiatives have in some way shaped the current arts scene and influenced current programming.

Arts Programming Sustainability Initiative (APSI)

The CFO’s Arts Programming Sustainability Initiative was an effort to develop sustainable funding sources for the arts, particularly through planned gifts and endowments that can provide long-term support. APSI represented a coalition of Springfield-Greene County arts and cultural organizations, whose representatives comprised the APSI panel.

The 10-Weeks Festival

"The 10 Weeks - Arts in Action” Festival, led by the Community Foundation of the Ozarks, for three years helped sustain the arts for Springfield and the surrounding region. Conceived by our community’s arts organizations and universities, the program brought Springfield’s cultural offerings under one brand to raise money for arts education and meet basic needs for children in Springfield Public Schools through a partnership with the "Care to Learn” program. Thanks to all of the "10 Weeks" agency partners, performing and visual arts organizations and patrons, each year's programming was a success.
